Celebrating Crazy Love

Aloha Friends!

Just wanted to share! Me and my husband Tom Conway just celebrated our 10 year anniversary. It’s hard to believe how fast time has gone by. I feel like it was just yesterday that we had our wedding day. We got married on the north shore of Maui at Mama’s Fish House. Our families flew in and we had a beautiful reception in the back of the restaurant.  It was an amazing day! Time has really flown by. I guess that is what happens when you are having fun!

These last 10 years have been amazing. I fee like we have lived so many in lives in such a small amount of time. When I look back on all we have accomplished, I stand in awe of God’s grace and favor in our lives. Here are some things we have done in the last 10 years. We sold our condo and bought a home in the rainforest of Haiku back in 2005. We went to Alaska on a cruise for my 40th birthday eight years ago. Tommy got to hit the road with Willie Nelson and tour last September 2013. These are just some of the highlights in the last 10 years and there are way too many blessings to mention right here.

What makes this crazy love work? The first thing is unconditional love of course. But what makes it remain? I believe respect is a very important part of any relationship. How you treat and speak to each other is vital in a relationship to have harmony and peace. A simple please or thank you goes a long way. I have to give Tommy credit for this one since his father instilled it in him when he was a child. He has taught me a lot in this area. Also, we don’t take each other for granted. We appreciate and value what each other brings to the relationship.

Working together as a team. It’s very important to have common goals and dreams as a couple. Me and Tommy make sure that we work together and support each other in everything that we do. Whether is it his music or my job in social media. By working together we can accomplish so much more than if we were working against each other.  The one thing that is great about us is that we are comfortable in our own skin. We don’t feel threatened  by each other. We allow each other to be who we are created to be.  We want to see each other do well as we chase after our dreams.  Remember, team work makes the dream work so make sure you are working together.

Communication is very important to us also. We make sure we tell each other everything that we are doing in our jobs, personal lives, and finances. We run things by each other first before we make a decision.  We want to make sure that we are both ok with the decision before we move forward. This is very important in a relationship if you want to keep the peace so make sure you are talking to each other.

Friendship in our relationship. This is what I really love about us. We are best friends. We share everything together. Our hopes, dreams, and our lives. We do everything together in a healthy way. We make sure we allow time for each other around our jobs and responsibilities. When you are spending time together, your friendship continues to grow. This is very important to us.

Trust is a huge key to making any relationship work. We trust each other with our very lives. We love each other so much that we know where each person stands in the relationship. We are comfortable, confident, and secure in our relationship. Without trust a relationship will not work.

These are just a few things that I wanted to share with you. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. Our journey of crazy love has been amazing. I look forward to many more years of bliss with my soul mate and best friend. I hope that some of these tips will help you in your relationships. We are not a perfect couple and we all have ups and downs, but these key things have worked for us tremendously.

A very special thank you to all of our friends and family who support us. Our lives would not be what it is without all of you. Mahalo (thank you) from the bottom of our hearts! We love each and every one of you.

Below is a YouTube video of our wedding day. It’s just a short clip. Sorry there is no music, but enjoy. We got married at Mama’s Fish House here on Maui. The photography was done by Sean Michael Hower and the video produced by Magic Moments Video which is owned by my father Michael Wallace.
