Keeping the faith while God is leading the way! There are certain situations where are faith gets shaken and we aren’t sure what God is doing. This blog is to encourage you to keep the faith in difficult and challenging times. I’m going to include scripture, but also personal experience to help you see that God is faithful and even though you may not see Him, He is working in your life. I have been through a lot, but I’m still here and God isn’t done with me yet. That is the same for you too! If you are breathing, God isn’t done with you! There is still much work for us to do! This chapter is just one of the things on the list that God wants me to do. I hope your faith in God is strengthened as you read this chapter. That is my prayer for you today.
Keeping the faith while dealing with unanswered prayer
I wanted to cover this topic because all of us have prayed for something that we haven’t seen come to pass yet. This is to encourage you to keep praying for the miracle you or someone else needs right now. Your situation could be dealing with sickness and God hasn’t healed you yet. Maybe your financial situation is a struggle and you haven’t received a breakthrough in your finances. It could be your marriage seems like it is falling apart and God isn’t showing any signs of being in the middle of that marriage right now. You could have a child who is terminally ill and your question to God is why? We all have different needs in our lives. I don’t know what your need is today, but I do know that God is fully aware of what is going on in your life. The bible says in Matthew 10:30 that even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Think about this for a moment. Every hair on your head is numbered! That is really amazing to think about. So maybe your asking me what does this have to do with my need? It doesn’t have anything to do with it, but I want you to realize that is how much God is aware of you and what is going on in your life. If he knows how many hairs are on your head, then he knows everything about you and your life. He knows your cries and he has seen your tears. I want you to keep praying and believing for your miracle. In Psalm 22:5 says, “They cried to you and we’re saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.” God will not disappoint you. Maybe you will never see the answer to your prayer or it won’t turn out the way you were hoping, but God knows what’s best for you. There is one scripture that has gotten me through some very difficult times and I always go back to this when I need it. You will find it in Jeremiah 29:11. It says, “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s plan for your life is to prosper you and not to harm you. He is a loving God who will take care of you all the days of your life. In Psalm 23:6 it says, “Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” God’s love and his goodness follows you. It pursues you! It is with you in every situation you face. He will never leave you nor forsake you! You are His child and you belong to Him. Just like a parent takes care of the needs of their own children, God will do the same for you. He is your Father and he loves you! Never doubt his love for you! Keep the faith and keep trusting the One who holds the universe in His mighty hands. Those prayers that you are praying He hears every one and he will answer each one according to His perfect will. Keep the faith while God is leading the way!
Keeping the faith when you are dealing with an illness.
Our lives are uncertain. We never know what the day is going to bring. Maybe you are terminally ill and you don’t understand why this is happening to you. Maybe it is a friend or a loved one and you are watching them suffer. These situations are very hard to handle and I don’t take them lightly. I have seen some of my family members face cancer. It was a very scary thing for us to face. My faith was shaken, but I ran to the only place I knew to go when this happened. I ran to the Great Physician, Jesus Christ! The bible says in Psalm 103:3 that He heals all our diseases. Now I’m not saying that everyone gets healed, because someone every day dies from an illness. My family members have beaten cancer and God did heal them for which I am very grateful. But I want to share with you how to keep the faith in the situation. The first thing to do is pray. Lay your cares at the foot of the cross and let God carry them for you. I know after I pray there is a peace that comes over me that can only come from God. His peace surpasses all of my understanding. I don’t worry anymore because I know God has heard my cry and He is taking care of it. It is only natural to be upset and concerned over the situation and anytime I felt like it didn’t look good I would pray again. So my advice is to pray a lot. Now what happens when you or your loved one is dying? Maybe you feel like God is letting you down or he is ignoring you. He hears every prayer you pray and he sees every tear that falls. We are all going to die some day, but none of us know how we are going to exit this life. Maybe a sickness is how you or your loved one is going to leave this earth. We will never know why these thing happen, but we need to trust that God knows what is best. Where we are going is way better than being here. The bible says in Revelation 21:4 , there will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. There will be no more suffering when we get to heaven. I hope you are encouraged and your faith is strengthened. God has you and your loved one in the palm of His mighty hand. He is leading your life! Keep the faith and trust the one who loves you more than anything!
Keeping the faith when you lose a child
This is a very hard subject to cover but I want to talk about this. There are a lot of parents who have had to bury a child. This is so unnatural to us because a a parent should never have to say goodbye to their child. The parent is the one who should be buried by the child. You may ask how I would know about this subject when I have never had a child? I watched my parents mourn the loss of my brother when he was 13 years old. It was the hardest thing to watch. I remember hearing my father wail in the night and just cry out with pain. It was the hardest thing I have ever lived through. My father was angry with God and very sad for a long time. We couldn’t understand why but we still chose to trust God in the midst of the pain. For some reason it was my brother’s time to go. I guess God needed another angel in heaven and he chose my brother David. Maybe you have lost a child and you are still dealing with all the emotions of the loss? Maybe you want to give up and not live anymore? I can tell you that your son or daughter wouldn’t want you to stop living. They would want you to go on. They would want you to be happy. They are in a much better place where there is more pain; only love and joy. Celebrate their life. Keep their memory alive. Take what was a tragedy and turn it into something good. Pray and ask God to take away the pain. He will heal you. We will never forget my brother, but God has healed our hearts. We know we will see him again and that’s what keeps us going. None of us will ever understand why children die at a young age. My prayer for you is that God will take away your pain. That he will heal your heart. That he will bring peace to your soul. That he will wipe away all of your tears. That he will fully restore you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in Jesus’ mighty name! Amen! Never let go of God’s hands! He is the only one that can heal your broken heart. He healed mine and he will do the same for you!
There are so many things that will come into our lives that will shaken our faith. These are just a few examples. My message to you is to stay close to God, stay in prayer, and stay in His Word, the bible. By doing this, you will be prepared spiritually for whatever comes your way. In John 16:33 Jesus says to us, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!”
